So I bought a 4.11 tranny/rear diff and a 4.44 tranny/rear diff from Jason, they came in today and the look great! They were strapped down to the palate so well that it took me nearly 40mins with wire cutters to remove them both. The best part about it was my total price (with shipping from Ohio to San Antonio) was only $1500 for two trannys!!! So for anyone looking to get trannys for a good price and your willing to do the swap yourself, I deffinetly suggest jason.

Hahaha, According to the "experts" at the other place, My trannies have too many miles on them:wtf:. That's hilarious since I have yet to have one single failure of all the 4.44's I've done. I even have one with 176K miles on it supposedly, and it is working perfect to this day.
The 4.44 trannies aren't the pieces of crap that our 92-94 trannies were, As they have all the little problems fixed. Also, It spends it's life behind a 2.5 liter engine in a vehicle that probably 90% of people that own them(I use outback trannies only) aren't hard on and keep them maintained. Then you have the fact the they don't even have to work hard due to the gear ratio.
And on top of it all, My supplier doesn't deal in junk and they are quite highly regarded and have 100% feedback on ebay. If something goes wrong, They correct it. I also offer a 90 day warranty on my work.;)

Don't listen to the lies people spread Ladies and Gentlemen for their own gain.
My work is top notch and so are my parts and I and my supplier stand behind it.

just out of curisity what is all involved in doing this yourself? these are autos so not as involved as 5 speed swap? or just as much work fabrication? are they "plug and play" like could a shop thats never done it pull it off easy as a stock tranny exchange or would that be bad news?

The tranny is almost a direct swap with the exception of the speed sensor, tranny mount, and shift cable bracket that needs be be swapped from the stock tranny to the legacy unit. The rear diff is more complicated and requires both rear diffs to be ripped apart. I offer this service if the person sends me there old rear diff and I can ship it all ready to go with the exception of the tranny things mentioned.

Hello.  What do you think of the following response from Smart Service , an evidently reputable shop in Seattle, WA, to my inquiry about the cost of installing a transmission into a green FWD 1994 SVX that is for sale for $1500 in Bellingham, Washington with a kaput transmission.  Does it seem reasonable?  Thank you.   ~Robert~

They come with our 12 month 12000 mile warranty along with an additional 3year 36000 mile parts only warranty through Subaru (assuming it's serviced properly during that time)."  Unquote.

Not bad on labor, But I think you could find a tranny cheaper. I could convert it to AWD for half or less than that cost honestly.

Hi.  I wish we lived in Ohio right now to bring it to you.  But then, the car would still be broken down in Washington, so it seems we'd still be "stuck" for a cost effective repair solution.  Thanks for answering.
