| Is it cold when you first start the car? By letting the air out of the system you mean R-134a? Does your temp gauge read a little below half?

| no its after the car has ran a while. no air out of the coolant system by taking the rad cap off. the temp gauge is a little below half all the time but the car is warmed up. the gauge sits right on the edge of the floating water

| Riches SVX is having a somewhat similar problem to RD which I can not for the life of me figure out. Hopefully someone can help him out as I have no idea what he has going on unless it is a head gasket which is all that is left for it to be on RD really since everything else is replaced.

| Are you noticing a loss of coolant in you reserve tank? Does any air come out of the floor vents when you turn the heat on? Last edited on Nov 19th, 2008 04:11 AM by redlightningsvx

| Then you've either got a leak somewhere that it's evaporating so you can't detect it or the worse case which you probably have would be the head gaskets are blown. Do you smell any coolant under the hood with the heat turned on high? Last edited on Nov 19th, 2008 04:14 AM by redlightningsvx

| Replace that hose and see if it fixes it then. I had a similar problem. I could smell coolant but didn't see any leaks for a YEAR. I only filled my reserve tank maybe twice during that time. Then a couple months ago the top rad hose had a slit in it from rubbing the p/s line and that is where the smell was coming from. New rad hoses are under $15 from dealer so try that and if it still does it then do a pressure test on your radiator.

| it doesnt seem to be leaking though. there was a little bit of fluild on the bottom of the water pump. i replaced the lower hose but not the top one. but would that really affect the heat?

| Well that changes everything. What kind of fluid was it on the pump? If coolant mabye the gasket on the pump or pump its self needs replaced but idk i'm not a mechanic.

The gasket could not have seated properly with the pump and motor.I think their is a gasket on the T stat to but i'm unsure if it could be that. That's all I can think of after all the things you described. I wouldn't rule out headgaskets just yet but it seems the problem is around the water pump.
